Assassin snail

Okay so I got a assassin snail this after noon to help with me snail explosion. I only got one as I don't wish to eliminate them just control it. Well after acclimating the assassin for 1hr I dropped him in the tank and he freaks out and closes his trapdoor and doesn't move for an hour or so. Then he crawls to the top of the tank and chills for a little and then at lights out he starts crawling back down and I notice some white stuff on his back. Has anyone seen this before? Idk what it is.

Here's a pic but can't see too good as it's in the front of the tank and lights are dim that high up

Right at the second spiral you can kind of see it.

    Hi!
Sorry to see you are having trouble with him.

Does it look like it's on the shell or it's the shell itself? Does it look mouldy or like a crack?

Sorrry, having trouble with the photos :) xx

It looked like it was coming from the snail itself. I sucked 90% of off with a turkey baster and it came off easily

My apple snails often secrete a jelly like substance when stressed which mixes with the sand and makes little sand castles, maybe it's the same stuff. I'm going to look into it now actually! I will get back to you...!x

It says here that it can be stress related if it's slime but I will try and find something better

however this suggests parameters irritating the snails

And a Fishlore thread which explains if it is mucusy it could be defense or water chemistry

Hope this helps! I've learned something here if it doesn't :)

I have an assassin snail and it sorta justs hangout during parts of the day and moves around a lot too. If your worried about the white spots I'm not all that sure. But I've never seen my snail eat other snails but my snail outbreak is gone
