Assassin snail: What to feed it?

I got an assassin snail last week to put in a 3 gal planted tank because I had a zillion pest snails running around. The Assassin snail ate every snail in the tank, do I have to get it feeder snails?

What will it eat now?

I do have RCS in the tank, should I be worried about the snail attacking the shrip?

The pest snails came in handy when I was cycling the tank, I would spend hours crushing the snails in the tank and just letting there bodies sink to the bottom of the tank and be broken up by the bacteria. Tank cycled in 4 days.
Would like to do the same for my fluval edge but I'm out of snails

They will scavenge for leftovers. if you are really worried about it not getting enough food, drop an algae wafer in every so often. Just remember to remove it before it rots/dissolves in your tank.

 

Personally, I'd try to supplement with something meaty like bloodworms. They will scavenge, but are primarily meat eaters, so they won't really touch algae or things like that from what I've read. Or, if your LFS store has pest snails, a lot of times they are happy to unload them for nothing or nearly nothing.

 

They rely heavily on protein, and only scavenge as a last resort from what I understand. I've heard of people putting pieces of meet in the tank to feed them.

 

Like drop some steak in there or something?

the rcs would not be attacked.

 

They'll eat all kind if fishfood-leftovers but definitely only the meaty ones and not vegs.
