Assassin Snail Dead Or Alive?

I bought an assassin snail yesterday to help with my snail problem and he hasn't moved for around 20 hours. Yesterday he was moving his foot but not grabbing anything but now he isn't moving it. Is he dead or alive?

 

Smell it. If it smells horrible, it's dead.

 

He smelled normal. As in the smell of my fish tank. Is he just playing dead or hunting?

 

What's the temp? Snails don't move much in low temps

 

It's 75 right now but my water is usually 77-79. I need to adjust my heater because I think it got bumped during a water change.

I'm actually going to keep the temp at 75 because after research it would probably be better for my fish. Also on live aquaria it says temp up to 74 so it is closer to its range as well

 

That happens to my snail, he never moved for 7 days and then BAM, back as normal. I wouldn't worry to much about it if he smells ok!

I checked it today and all around its foot is fuzzy and white. He passed the sniff test though. So is it still alive? If it is can someone tell me what is on its foot.

I got an assassin snail this weekend for a snail problem in my fish tank. This was the first batch of fish as well. It hasn't moved for 3 days and when I checked it today its foot was all fuzzy. Is it still alive? It passed the sniff test but I'll check it again later tonight.

 

If it's all fuzzy, I would assume it's dead. None of my assassins have any type of fuzz on them and they are all alive and well
