Assassin and Ramshorn snail question

I put 15~ Ramshorn snails of them into a newly established 5-gal tank. They had no biofilm to eat, and unfortunately went after my plants, which are now shredded to the base. I also put 2 assassin snails in there to eat the Ramshorn snails, because I have an infestation in all of my tanks. Will the Assassin snails starve and eat the plants like the Ramshorns did, or will they eat the Ramshorns? I heard that they'll only eat other snails if theres no more food left, which is why I put them all in that tank that had nothing in it. But so far, I haven't seen any empty shells.

Should I add some food for the Assassins before they starve? Most of the Ramshorns are just as big as them or bigger, so are they not eating them because theyre too big?

Assassin snails will eat ramshorns if they find them. Assassin snails don’t care if they’re food is bigger than the. They will still eat them. I have a assassin snail in a 45 gallon tank full of bladder snails, but the assassin wouldn’t find them.

The assassins will eat the ramshorns no matter how big they are.

Pretty sure the ramshorns won't have eaten healthy plants.

They were perfectly healthy, but were shredded down in 2 days time. Weren't rotted or anything. It was Valisnaria Spiralis, maybe it was soft enough? I heard from another thread that giant ramshorns can eat plants, but I don't think mine are giant.

Not sure if the Ramshorns were so hungry they killed and ate it or if it died from starvation or parameters or what :/

I had 5 assassin snails fail at life and die, oh well.

their 1 offspring was alive in my 20 long a few months ago, I rarely see him.

If you want to control ramhorn populations, do not depend on whelks. JMO.

they cute but cannot keep up with the sheer numbers
