HI guys, I have a sick honey gourami.
I have a 29 gallon tank with 4 honeys, 4 julI corys, 5 neon tetras, and 1 male guppy. Yesterday I bought 3 harlequin rasboras and another julI cory. They all looked pretty pale and a little underfed in the store, but I thought I could fix them up and give them a good home. This morning I found all of them dead and one of my honeys with a strange fuzz on the back of his head.
Over the course of today the patch got worse. It is now very noticeable and seems to be pushing his scales up in that one area. This morning he was active and normal, but then I noticed this spot. Within 12 hours it got noticeably worse. I moved him to a 10 gallon QT and tried dosing it with some Kordon ICH-Attack, but I've heard that it might not work to treat a fungus. I did some research and am wondering adding 1 Tbs. per 5 gallons of water of epsom salt would be a good treatment. My only concern is that there are some serious debates about fish in salt for too long. I don't know if salt would even work, but I don't want to stress my fish out any more by having to net him repeatedly to give him salt baths. Would it be ok to put into the entire tank?
