29 Gallon Tank Artificial Or Real?

I currently have artificial plant and live Moss balls I already tried having live plants when I was poorly educated but now I don't know if I want to do it again. I was looking at the pros and cons of have artificial/live plants for my neon tetras, so now I'm just stumped. I have one bright light especially for live plants but now I know it's too bright for the neons so now I'm think to have floating plant for them. Give me your thoughts on this

 

Start with the beginner plants like java fern and amazon sword, those kinda plants. Get some root tabs for them and you should be fine. The benefits outweigh the draw backs if any really of a planted tank but that’s my opinion. As for the light being too bright for the neons can you not adjust it in anyway? Maybe tilt it more towards the back of the tank. I have several plants which I literally just placed in the tank with no nutrients and they have grown so much just by extracting various things from the water. Moss balls are always a winner, the only thing you need to do is move them once a week or so as to not cause flat spots or brown dead patches underneath.

 

Ok thanks for the Moss ball advice, the light is an aqueon clip on it goes white and blue for night. Not much I can do with that light T.T

 

I could clip it on either the left or right side leave one end dull and the other bright?

 

I’m not that knowledgable on lighting to be honest and wouldnt want to give you bad advice. But in my head as long as it’s an aquarium light then it should be fine? What was it doing to the tetras?

 

The tetras on the bottom not in the middle and not much activity.
