New arowana just got outta QT and placed in our 175 gal assorted cichlid tank. We also have an albino bishir, 2 blood parrots, and 2 pleckos. He looks so healthy and is getting along great with his friends

Bichirs are cool! Hope you got something bigger planned for the arowana, eventually! And can keep the lids weighed down so it can't jump through it

Always have my eyes at least half open for such things. What is that purple cichlid, it is purdy!

Thank you he's a peacock cichlid from lake Malawi. His name is Andrew and he is very beautiful That's why we snatched him up when we did. I've never seen another one like him

Yes I've never had any territorial or any kind of aggressive behavior from any of them

I think they are talking about if the blood parrots are getting along with the african cichlids (yellow lab and other african cichlids). They probably ask because SA cichlids are (Generally) a lot less aggressive then african cichlids and a lot of times they won't live. I've had a friend who tried that once and the SA cichlid was killed.

You already replied to that post over a month ago?

Anyways, yeah, the blood parrot has a small, inefficient mouth, meaning it would struggle fighting off the peacocks, should they turn aggressive. Well, “territorial” is the better word for it.
