I answered 2: no meat or fish.
I limit my meat and will often replace it with mushrooms or some sort of meat substitute because of the inefficiency of the production of meat. I try to make as much of my meat as possible come from game animals, as well, because when they are farmed, they are generally raised in areas that are more than just short grass. It's often natural prairies, sometimes even woods.
I am I am. I didn't do it because I don't like meat though - a lot of it is delicious. I did it for the ecological damage that gross amounts of meat consumption wreaks on our world. I have no interest in starting a global warming or economic debate but there can be little argument that the overwhelmingly carnivorous habits of our world have had an effect.
I don't push it on anyone else though - my daughter eats what she wants and my fiance loves a good steak. Everything in consumption though.
I could never become a vegetarian, I love meat way to much. I still love my veggies a lot though. I am one of those weird people that love most veggies. But I still like my moo cows and piggys. Yum YUM.
hey, check the poll. Funny: 2 in each category except vegan (none)
lol I didn't vote. I was a veggie for 6 years, all through high school and some college.
and tonight... I'm eating TACOS!
But it's good that your wife has gone through it. I'll remember in case it happens to me, I'll know of someone with a similar experience.
But guys, like I said, let's not get excited about lots of little Armadillo fry just yet!
ooooh I love eggs too! nothing better then eggs, polony, sausages and toast on a sunday breakfast!hey, check the poll. Funny: 2 in each category except vegan (none)
yeah - no way. I can't give up my dairy. I love eggs - would probably starve without them.

so i've seen!!!That's true! checkout the polls, most of them are food related!
I wouldn't ever go that route, our bodies need the protein from meats and I wouldn't really want to take a bunch of vitamins via pill form just to keep my protein level up.
Tom
Exactly, we were meant to eat both plants and animals and our bodies were designed too, so we shouldn't 'starve' it of what it is meant to do.I wouldn't ever go that route, our bodies need the protein from meats and I wouldn't really want to take a bunch of vitamins via pill form just to keep my protein level up.

It's not protein you get from vitamins, it's a couple of vitamins and minerals (the B vitamin I mentioned earlier, for example). Protein's easy to come by. Soy products, all sorts of beans, mushrooms, eggs and dairy products (if you're not full vegan), etc...
I'm with you, though. The few times I've been faced with one of the belligerent vegans, I've been quick to point out that human physiology is omnivorous in nature. There's little they can do to argue the facts (like, we have forward-facing eyes, a predatory setup, or the fact that we have teeth for shearing meat as well as for chewing plant material), they get upset and walk away. I don't resort to these tactics, however, unless someone accuses me of being evil for eating a hamburger, especially if I've gone out of my way to be sure that my hamburger came from a free-range cow that was fed a vegan diet.

But really for us, we grow our own vegetables and get our eggs straight from the chickens since we know were to look and none of them have any of the vitamin robbing chemicals on/in them.I wouldn't ever go that route, our bodies need the protein from meats and I wouldn't really want to take a bunch of vitamins via pill form just to keep my protein level up.
Tom
.....and, while I don't have any insight as to your regular diet, the probability is that you DO need a vitamin to balance your diet. because of the way that our food is grown now most diets are lacking something or another, no matter how carefully you eat.
