Are these worms bad?

AutisticFishBlog

Hi, I noticed some tiny white stringy things hanging off one of my bottom feeder fish. I’ll include a photo of them floating in the water. The pic is bad quality though. From what I researched, they look like detritus worms which are harmless. However, if they’re on my fish, I’m concerned.. I don’t see them on anymore and he’s acting normal and healthy.. just an over concerned fish parent!!

Looking at what's on the glass you're right they are detritus worms BUT
If you see any hanging from your fish you may want to research
Anchor worm I don't possess any knowledge on anchor worms just know of them

I have a colony of detritus worms but mine don’t climb on the fish. Yours could be anchor worms as richiep mentioned. Did you recently introduce a new fish or is it exclusive to the feeders?

No new fish have been introduced, it’s only in the bottom feeders and now it’s gone so I don’t know?
