Are These Fish Ok Together?

I have an established 29 gallon tank that currently has 3 mollies, 1 platy, 4 von Rios, a neon dwarf gouramI and a blue gourami. Everyone gets along except I just brought the dwarf neon gouramI home yesterday and everyone seems to be picking on him. I also know I will have to take the blue gouramI (not dwarf) back eventually as it will outgrow my tank. What are your thoughts on the fish that I currently have in there? I keep reading differing stories on whether I should have the gouramis at all. I just really like them and the LFS said it should be ok. Thoughts?

I'd generally not mix different species of gourami. The blue will indeed need to be removed eventually but the dwarf should be ok.

How long should I give the other fish to stop picking on the dwarf gouramI before I consider taking him back? He's bigger than them so I don't understand it.

Perhaps providing more cover for your GouramI would be beneficial. I find they tend to like lots of plant cover

If I were you, I would go your tetra school to at least six.

I recommend a tank of 35 - 40 gallons for a single Opaline (Blue Gourami)
