Are there any other fish diseases that cause white spots on fins and body?

I'm new to this forum and was wanting to confirm that my fish have ich or something else. I have 4 Green Lantern Platy and 3-7 Platy fry that are roaming free in the 30 gallon tank. I have seen them flashing/scratching themselves on decor and have noticed little white specks on their tails mostly, but some on the body. Yesterday they would swim around all crazy like, then sit and rest for a few mins and then repeat. They all seem to be normal today except for the flashing and resting. Any ideas??

The flashing usually indicates skin irritation. My first guess would be Ich. If you can get some decent pictures, that would help with 100% diagnosis.

Are the spots 3D-ish? I think is most likely ich.

A lot of the spots are gone now because I treated the tank as though it had ich. One of my platies has been hiding a lot and has the most spots. The one on top is in the worst shape. The other three are practically normal now except for a few spots. The spots are mainly on her fins.

This might help

Sorry I only have my phone to take the pics it might help a bit.

Well now it seems the ich is off my platies and I will continue heat and salt treatment for the recommended 10 days after ich is not visible, but now one of my lady platies has two large white cotton-like spots on her tail. Looks like a fungus. Any ideas on what to do?? Thanks for your help!!

I can test it now and get back to you. I had jump started it with some gravel from another tank and let it run for 4 days. Then the day I put in the fish in I put in tetra safestart plus which brought the ammonia down. I'll post the water parameters in about 10 mins. Thanks

The parameters are:
Ammonia- ~.25ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 10-20ppm
High range PH- ~8.2

Ammonia is closer to 0ppm than .25ppm
I use the API freshwater master test kit.

Ok seems you're coming out of the woods now water-wise. I asked because it's difficult to treat Ich if the cause of the stress (seems like water in this case) is still present.

Finish the Ich treatment, wait at least two days, then I would try a fungicide if the tail spots are still there...

Ok thanks for he advice! I have some melafix but it doesn't say it treats fungus. Should I look for something else?

hampalong is correct in stating that Ich is caused by stress, and if you have any other reading than Zero for Ammonia and Nitrite, this will cause the stress
