Are There Any Human Foods I Can Feed My Corydoras?

Hey friends, I have several false juliI corydoras and red cherry shrimp, and I've just been feeling restless lately and want to do something different. I tried feeding my shrimp all sorts of blanched, healthy veggies, but they're only interested in picking at my aquarium plants. Is it possible to feed my corydoras raw or cooked seafood, like tilapia?

I'd normally buy frozen bloodworms or something living like brine shrimp, but my aquarium is at my office (I'm in a PhD program), and I feel weird leaving bloodworms or a bag of swimming brine shrimp in the office refrigerator that I share with all the other students. Leaving them in my apartment is feasible but it just seems like a bother to have my fish food and fish in two different places.

Yes, but that’s not the only thing you should feed them. Do you have dry fish foods, like carnivore pellets or wafers? Believe it or not, commercially prepared diets are nutritionally better than feeding strictly frozen foods.

Raw shrimp is good for them. You can also feed any white meat fish like tilapia.

Yep, they get Omega One shrimp pellets with the occasional HikarI sinking wafer. I just get bored feeding them orange-colored disks hundreds of days in a row.

Is it better to feed raw seafood? A chunk of raw shrimp or fish seems difficult for them to eat since they have no way of biting it, and the muscle fibers hold together well when they're not cooked.

I put mine in a food processor. Comes out as delectable mush.

Informative, but gross! haha!

If it's, and not the fish that is bored with the food, don't fix what isn't broken.

I've seen all kinds of fish, including corys go nuts for some leftover potatoes and carrots, that had been cooked in foil on the BBQ, then stored in a tupperware with a steak. Maybe it was the meat juices seeping in that set everyone off, or the softness.

Side note - snails love apples.

Most meats can be fed to fish, just avoid anything cooked in oil or fat, or anything with any kind of seasoning on it. You can feed most vegetables to fish, too, but keep it simple- spinach, cucumber, etc. I'd avoid fruits and vegetables that can be toxic to other pets though, like avocados (toxic to some birds) and grapes (toxic to dogs). I don't know for certain they're toxic to fish, but I wouldn't want to use mine as guinea pigs, if you'll excuse the metaphor.

Hmm ok. I'll mash up a bite of raw swaI fillet and see if they like it.

Does anyone know if non-white meat fish (e.g., mackerel or salmon) are ok for corydoras, too, just for my future reference? Someone above specifically said that white meat fish and shrimp are ok, so I'm wondering if non-white meat fish is harmful somehow.
