Are scented candles or diffusers safe for fish or no?

Hey guys so I purchased a bunch of scented candles and an electric air freshener diffuser for my room, but I'm a little confused whether or not they are okay to be put in the same room where my fish is. My fish is in an aquarium, there's a closed lid on its not completely closed because of the filter tubing. So I was wondering if I placed the scented candles/diffuser on the other side of the room if that would be okay or could it be dangerous for my fish even if its really far and the scent is being blown out/spread out by the air conditioner (AC)? What do you guys think?

We had a similar question fairly recently and i think the general consensus was that these sorts of things were ok. Based on the sheer volume of diffuser thingies in my house (not mine, i might add!) they dont affect any of my tanks but they do all have lids.

It's the sprays you gotta worry about getting too close to aquariums.
