Are nerite snail eggs hard to remove from wood?

My nerites are laying eggs all over my wood specifically, for some reason.

When I remove them, will it be difficult? As in, so they stick on there really good or is it just a quick scrub do get one off?

They are stuck on there with serious glue power. It can be a pain to get them off, though scraping with a knife blade works fairly well. A new, clean stainless steel scrubber also works.

On rocks it may take a wire brush to get them off.

I figured. Does boiling help?

If you're keeping the nerites it might be futile to keep boiling the wood, they'll probably just go back to laying more eggs on it. I also think boiling it everytime would make the wood degrade faster and definitely remove the beneficial bacteria growing on it.

Agree with fishywoo. If you keep nerites, you have to live with the eggs. I only clean them of the glass, which is easy.

When I redesign the tank I'll be removing the snails since it'd be too acidic anyway. I just wouldn't know what to do with them.

If you can't set up a tank for them you could give them to another fish keeper or perhaps a fish store will take them.

Considering nerites have to be caught, not bred, I'm sure your LFS would take them happily to increase their stock. That's only if you don't have a lucky fishkeeper in mind.

Alright. As much as I want them gone now I kinda can't because they help a lot with the tank. There's also a mystery snail in there which I'll probably move to my 20 gal.

You get used to them and not even see them anymore eventually. Unless they go on a rampage and cover a whole piece of wood in one day.....lol

Ehh I'm starting to get used to it. My mind always makes me remember it looking way worse than it really is.

Generally it's not covering a lot of the wood but in some spots it looks like a trypophobic person's worst nightmare.
