Are my snails mating ?

Yes, but that doesn't always mean the other snail is female. I've had snail on snail action with both partners being male snails.

Well give it time. They other snail may very well be female. You may get a few magentas out of that color mix. Most will be the colors of the parents. But you could get some very nice mixtures.

I'm trying to mate my snails, hoping they are opposite sexes. I have a golden shell and a blue shell. Magenta would be cool tho!

How long to snails take between mating and laying eggs?

Well that picture looks like a dark purple male. The one hanging on the side of the other is definitely the male. I've mixed ivory with dark purple and got a few Magenta's before. Took me 7 snails to eventually find a female, so good luck! What's the size of your tank? I just got rid of 600 mysteries. It can get out of hand after a while.

I don't know much about snail breeding. But that's definitely an egg clutch!!! Congrats that's so neat, I'm hoping mine are a male/female pair but worried about snails taking over the aquariums.

yup that's def. a clutch. maybe they mated other times, or it really is that quick.

They probably lay eggs shortly after mating, but are they fertilized? That's the question! It could take 5 weeks to know the answer. If it's humid enough in the waterless space of the tank, assuming you have a lid, that's the ideal hatching condition. What else is in that aquarium? Or are you removing it to hatch separately?

Whoops sorry you aren't the op and I recall you said you made a hatchery
