5 Gallon Tank Are my readings good?

I lost a piece of paper that shows what my test readings should be at, I did a water change yesterday

GH 180
KH 120
PH 7.0
NO2 0
NO3 40

I have a snail (don't know what type it is) and a male betta fish in a natural tank with only 1/3 betta bulb plants that sprouted

 

Nitrate is a little high, especially for the day after a wc.

 

I agree with the above nitrate is a bit high. Me personally I like to keep it under 20 but I would say 40 is maximum for me. Also, I recommend you getting a ammonia testing. Api master test kit includes ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, and ph so I recommend you getting that instead of the test strips. Other than that I think you're fine.

Yeah I'm just using the test strips for now, I also have ammonia test strips.
And I still need to test my main tank

 

Test strips are fine they may be a bit off but work fine most of the times. User error with test strips is letting the water drip down between test squares on the strip. If you want accurate readings hold it flat when you dip it in the water. Or take a small container and dip it flat so the other areas of the strip are not contaminated by run off water. Also don't shake off extra water off the strips keep them steady.
