hey,
So I recently added a group of boesmanI rainbows to my tank and a male/female pair seem to be chasing each other around in circles. I have posted a video below

Looks like 2 males fighting for territory.

Sorry to break it to you but I'm 99% sure you have 2 males and not a m/f pair.

Ah **** really? I thought that the best way to sex them was that a male should be very orangey yellow and blue. And I female should be more muted and look almost green

Still nope.

Both males. Google female boesemanI rainbowfish and you'll see it's very easy to tell the difference.

Aah I see them now haha. That one I have is just terribly coloured compared to the other I’m going to see if I can swap it for a female

Is this what a normal female should look like?

Yep, but they're also thinner than males even when young.

If you're not planning to breed them, 2 males is preferred to a pair (m/f). Or better yet, 3 males to spread the aggression, if any. The female will constantly be stressed because the male will bug her all the time.

How big is your tank? What other fish are in there?

300L with a whole load of dwarf neon rainbows. Currently just working on getting a population of boesmanI going. Got 3 so far and I swapped that male to another female.
