Are garden hoses aquarium-safe?

Hi everyone!
I've been working on a water changimg system, and I was wondering which hoses are aquarium safe. The one I found on sale at the hardware store today is lead free, bit it doesn't say it's drinking safe that I can see.
What I'm most concerned about is phosphate. It doesn't say not to drink from it on the warnings so that's a good sign. Do you guys think it would be okay to use to fill my aquariums? I have a sink to hose adapter and the 50ft watercolors swan hose. So it'll just fill the aquarium instead of lugging gallon jugs!
Thanks guys!!

I've been using a garden hose in my aquariums for a few years and my fish have been fine.

I used garden water hose for many years. No issues that I noticed but I have since switched to drinking water hose just to be safe. It's not much more expensive.

You might consider buying a true rubber garden hose rather than the vinyl types.

My grandpa had been using a garden hose for WC's in his 55 gallon for over 30 years! No problems :)

i would say its perfectly fine,i used to use a garden house to fill my tank from the kitchen to the living room never had any problems, the only thing is you got to keep a check on the temperature as its being filled sometimes the water can change temperature with you not knowing, and you could be filling the tank with cold or hot water as it fills.

Most garden hoses should be fine. Biggest issue is if they are left in the sun.

I personally use a food grade hose made for R.V. potable water but I run warm water through it, and also needed the space it saved me: it's a smaller diameter than most outdoor garden hoses of the same quality, mine lives under a cramped bathroom sink.

i've been using the garden hose for the past 4 years. let it run for a minute or two. in the summer the water is boiling hot. in the winter the water is near freezing cold.
