I purchased and eel 1 week ago and its still alive so it has to be eating something and I feed bloodworms but it looks like it never eats any of them so does it eat it while I'm not around? It comes out and sits at the front of my tank when I'm not present (or my lights of and I'm reading in bed) so will it eat then or does it just find something else to munch on?

yes. most eels are nocturnal. if you have only had him for a week than chanses are he is not eating yet unless you bought it from another aquariast. some people do not get them to eat for upwards of 3 weeks. so he may go for a while without feeding. when they get comfortable then they will come out and eat when you feed the other fish, and will even eat from your hand if they are trained properly.
