Are Chainlink Moray Eels Reef Safe?

Are Chainlink Moray Eels safe to be kept in a reef setup with inverts like a purple lobster, shrimp, and marine hermit crabs? Are they also safe with 4 to 6-inch fish? Will they destroy coral and polyps and the like? And does it tolerate having its own special hiding spot shared with swimming/schooling fish above it?

I plan on keeping my first saltwater aquarium; I come from a freshwater aquarium keeping (includes planting keeping and growing, currently-happening black mystery snail x golden apple snail mating, etc) "background."

I was thinking of the aquarium to be like 300 gallons (hopefully). To be Kept in Home; Display Tank

Thank You

Also: Some creatures I plan on or considering are: Some Clownfish Species ('cause I watch movies), Purple Lobster, Some Hermit Crab (maybe Blue Leg Hermit Crab; kept in groups), Some Shrimp, Urchins

Thanks for replying! Will they eat guys like blue legged hermits? I really like inverts, and there is many for marine aquarium keeping!

With the main diet of chainlink eels being inverts and smaller fish, I wouldnt put that in a reef setup. While they may be safe with corals the biodiversity of inverts will suffer in the tank with a eel I'm sure people have made it work though.
