Ok so I have been using a 200w Aqueon pro heater in my 55 gallon for 6 months now and it is awesome. It has been really tested this winter. The temps where I live this winter have been either single digit's or negative. Had an issue with my furnace the other night and the temp in the house was 55 degrees. That 200W heater maintained a 79 degree temp in my tank without any issues. I didn't turn it up its been set to 80 since I installed. I know a lot of people would think I need more watts but this thing performs flawlessly.. Kudos to Aqueon for a great product!!!!!

I agree, love their heaters! Other heaters are okay but I trust my aqueon pro more. In love that the red/green light tells you if its working too. My 150 watt for the 29d works really well. will definitely get another for my other tanks when I need new ones.

Aqueon Pros are the best in my opinion, but it's recommended you keep two heaters in the tank for two reasons, the first, one heater constantly in use due to colder nights will fail eventually, dual heaters would work less to maintain tank temperature and last longer as an electrical component. Second, since your fish are temperature dependent, you always want to have a method of redundancy in your tank, if one heater fails, the other can continue to keep your stock alive versus waking up to a half dead tank due to a temp drop in result of a bad heater.

Agreed and I love the Aqueon Pro Heaters. Currently using 5 of them in all of my set ups. Accurate within 1 degree.

Thanks for the review!
