Aqueon 75 Hob Problems

My recently purchased, Craigslist, aqueon 75 bottom piece (where the tube and actual machine are located) won’t fit into the part that houses the filter media. It’s the right size it just won’t stay in it. Don’t feel bad though it was just a free accessory to a tank I bought and I have other filters if we can’t get this one fixed, just figured a 75 would help more than my 30!
Thanks

I realize that it is very dirty, and I was going to clean it up real nice but I didn’t want to waste time if it won’t work

Ok well it goes in like a trap door. The side without (by the cable) the clip goes in first. There's a notch inside the housing with the motor's tab (without the clip) sets into. Then you push the other side (with the clip) into place and it will lock.

Because it's soo dirty with calcium/hard water stains, it might not lock into place. Try to clean those parts off first to make sure they'll lock in. Hope this helps!

Going to have to try that when I get home from work.

Another question, since I’m planning on getting a Bamboo Shrimp for this new tank once its established, should I move my power head filter (I’ll add a pic later) to the tank for faster flowing water for feeding? Thanks

Sry but I have no clue how to care for shrimp and their needs. Maybe someone else can help with that.

I tried again and realized that there is nothing to latch onto on the cable side. I feel dad throwing what seemed to be a good filter out
