I love aquascaping and nature themed tanks. (not the mlp, hello kitty, hot pink, brightly colored etc. tanks.)

Well I can show you my old tank (since I am converting it to a Malawi atm)

It was actually better after I got algea problems.

Very nice! I've always liked black sand, is it easy to clean and does it get into siphons? I'm thinking about using it for a new 10 g betta tank

It depends on the sand but this one (Nat Geo brand) doesn't seem to get eaten up by my siphon. You can always just swirl the mouth of your siphon an inch or two above the sand to kick up the gunk without disturbing the sand too much if it becomes an issue. But otherwise I love it, and more importantly the fish love it too!

Thank you! Its been a long process from this to what it is now. imageThe orange fish are ember tetra. Very lively but peaceful. I have a school of ember and rummynose tetra along with a school of sterbai cory and I will be adding a GBR soon. It's a 29g

Bettas should not be kept with fish in anything less than a 20 long. It is extremely stressful for them, they are solitary fish for a reason. The only tankmates for a betta in a 10 gallon are shrimp and snails.

    Thank you:)
I have a couple other tanks not pictured, I'm working on dividing two tanks for my male bettas(20 long and 10 gallon) and I have another 10 gallon with a couple guppies I'm hoping to get fry from.
