Aquascaping ideas - 5 gallon betta tank

Oh yeah those could probably do well. Don’t have CO2 they’d be fine without it right?
okay question about moss
i read somewhere you can cut up moss balls and stick them onto driftwood is this true cause if it is ill just do that instead of buying java moss LOL
Not sure about dwarf hair grass but i always see it and acknowledged it as non nco2. Crypts just need root tabs.

I've heard about splitting and using moss balls as mats so its possible, but not sure how.

bought the plantssssss happy early bday to ME
got 3x java ferns, 2x crypts and a pot of anubias peitites so its a start lol
i'll eventually get hairgrass and frogbit, but i think that'll be something to just add eventually. its not something i need asap.

It’s 5 am, and I’m thinking
5 gallons for a betta is enough to have some kind of tank mate right? Like can I get some ghost or cherry shrimps? Maybe snails?

I think some tank mates would be pretty cool and something I’d like to look into for this setup

Depending on the betta, the shrimp may quickly become betta snacks. I think some people have had success, though mine were always expert shrimp hunters. A snail should be safe though

Sweet. I heard ghost shrimp are good for bettas since they’re transparent so hmmmm
If I decide on shrimp, how many could I get? I never really looked into it till now haha

Been curing my driftwood today as well and soaking the rock I have. Just putting on Spotify on the TV and I’m good hahaha

so I decided to check my pH any surprisingly? It’s harder than I remember. Last time I checked it was around like 6.8-7 now it’s 7.6 lollll bit of a dramatic change. I’m going to have to check pH in my tank and see if it’s different. It’s pretty hard and Idk what that means for my fish.

So I remembered to get eVERYTHING but alum and roobois tea today I even made a list. Darn me and my forgetfulness, it rlly is a curse.

so I soaked my rock overnight in water and boiled it for 30ish minutes today (plus doing the vinegar test to check for calcium) and I think I might be good?
I really wanted to plant it today but I kind of want to cure my plants, so I might do a peroxide dip instead. Not sure. Hmmmm

anyway here’s a picture of my rock vibing in boiled water
