I need your guys artistic eye for this. I have plants coming on Monday so it won’t look so bland but something about the way these rocks are positioned isn’t right to me. Any suggestions?

Im not very smart I forgot the pic one sec

The positioning is far too symmetrical. They're also completely in the middle. I would reposition them to make it look more natural.

Do you have any ideas on positions?

Here’s a new pic still looks kinda off

Maybe put them in sort of a pile on one side, and throw In any other rocks and driftwood to make a nice hard scape, maybe slope the sand, too. Then you can do a 1/2 planted 1/2 empty look, but it depends on the stocking, that's good for schooling fish in general. Or if that's not your style and you like a more modern or simple look, leave them like that, and put the plants kind of around/behind the rocks...
What is the stocking going to be, including plants. And are you adding driftwood?

I would move them closer together to one side, and then add some smaller stones radiating out if you can. Some manzanita or spider wood would be nice to give it a more directional nature. If you don't have any wood or smaller rocks, I would do them together slightly off-center with the largest in the middle of the pile. Just my opinion.

Take that big piece off to the left, turn it, and place it on the right hand side of the second rock. move the big piece into the background and place the smaller piece directly in front of it, touching it so theres a slight overlap. move that whole structure a couple inches to the left and just move that third piece to the left by a couple inches as well

Thanks! I won’t be adding driftwood just because I dont want to soak it or have tannins or anything. The stocking will be a pair of polar blue blood parrots. They only get 3-4 inches nothing compared to a normal blood parrot. The plants I’m getting are dwarf sag and golden nesaea

It might just be that I didn’t sleep last night but I’m confused as heck right now. So basically from what im understanding put them all in the middle?

No lol. take the rock off to the left and move that to the middle so its beside the smaller one. then move those over to left by 2 inches together, and move the 3rd rock, the one off to the right, to the left by 2 inches too

I like what pfrozen said for the scape especially if it's larger fish, so they're the center of the scape. Are you using the dwarf sag as a carpet and the golden nesaea in the background? This is going to look really nice!
And then sleep in tomorrow. Those kids must've sucked the life out of you lol.

I might have don’t it but maybe not. I’m such a visual learner lol

move the rock on the right back to the midground and itll be in a perfect spot. you can also try the rock on the far left in a variety of different orientations... flip it around and over a few times and post the version you like the best

So I changed my mind I just got a piece of spider wood any ideas on where it could go? The scape is still the same as the last pic on here

Is that rock on the far right still in the foreground? You could tuck the spiderwood behind that so it covers the filter and fills things in a bit more. Try that and see how it looks. I would still move the big pair of rocks a little more to the left as well
