Description: Plants for sale over the internet as well as a large variety of supplies.

Pros: Good prices and very nice selection. Most plants were in good condition upon arrival.

Cons: Poor on-site description, had to useplant geek as a reference. Plants are shipped in wet newspaper to save on shipping so overnight or two day shipping is a must.

 

I have bought several plants from them and they arrived in good shape. Like Marc says, they make sure you have to use the expedited shipping and do not guarantee live delivery if it is not used. I live within a days travel and shipping from them and they did not even want to ship to me via ground transport where any other delivery method would have been a bit ridiculous.

They do have nice plants. But like Marc, I wish they had more information about them.

I logged onto the site, but how do you order plants from it?

 

I found aquarium plants and the un-artistic and slightly lazy side of me appreciated the custom aquascape service. I don't have a great selection of plants locally and thought it would be great to have someone take the specs of my tank and help me put together a visually appealing plant layout and then sell me plants to match.

I placed an order on July 1 and aside from the canned order confirmation have heard absolutely nothing. I've followed up three times via email (two different email addresses in case one is going into spam), called the number on their website but it just rang and rang, and tried to fax them as a last resort, but the fax is not going through. I then called the fax number to see if it was busy or just not hooked to a fax machine and it says "the magicjack customer you have called is not available."

Does anyone have any experience with these people? Their website looked legit, but I'm starting to wonder. If they are a legit business, they don't seem very organized. I'm going to file a complaint with Amex to return my money.

Makes me sad because I was really excited about it. I guess I should have asked before I ordered.

Dang! The BBB rates them as an F. Lesson learned. I'll do more due diligence before buying online.

I've used their aquarium substrate in the past, worked great as a stand alone substrate and capped over organic dirt. I have ordered my plants exclusively from them and have been satisfied though I have never tried to take advantage of their aquascape layout services so there I can't comment. I can only say I've had positive experience with them ordering plants and using their substrate.

You must be cooler than me! Glad you added your comment to balance this thread for future potential customers of this company - I wish I could say the same as you. To this day, they have not responded to my order or my communication attempts at all. It will be interesting to see if they respond to Amex.

 

This does put me off though. I'm tempted to order my plants from elsewhere next time. I just luckily never ran into any problems with these guys, I was even going to order their complete CO2 system. I might try sweetaquatics next. Now that I think about it, my jungle vals arrived pretty beat up from aquariumplants! And a red rubin sword.

Try, I have had good results with them so far.

 

I recently ordered from plantedaquariumscentral.com, and I am beyond pleased. The plants I received were in really good shape despite crazy heat (good packaging), they were all bigger than they had been listed, and almost every species was doubled. Plus I thought the prices were competitive, and my order shipped out super fast.

 

I ordered 5 gal of substrate, about 30 plants and their fertilizer from them in May 2012 ... all arrived on time and in good shape ... spoke to them twice over the phone prior to the order being placed - easy to get on the phone and very knowledgeable and helpful ... looked at the BBB reports: 7 complaints, all but 1 had some age on them

Ive ordered from them now, 4 times. In fact just placed a order last week. I give shipping instructions and they follow it.

 

After raiding my LFS and getting what I wanted there, I still had certain types of plants in mind they didn't have in stock nor did they typically get it. So - I headed to the internet and came across aquarium plants

Let me say, my (small) order arrived today and I was very satisfied! Now that I'm thinking about it, I should have photographed everything as I unboxed but excitement took over and everything was quickly in the tank. The narrow leaf chain swords, anubias, and star repens were the only plants part of this order. They were all in excellent condition and very well alive. They were well packed and arrived within a reasonable amount of time. They ship orders out on wednesday and you have the option to do next day or 2 day shipping. I opted for 2 day which was $16 for orders over $50 that were plants only (the site sold other aquarium supplies as well.

Extremely satisfied and would gladly purchase from again!

Thank you for the review, I was thinking of ordering from them for a 55 gallon tank I am setting up.

 

Just ordered plants tonight from them, they will be here Friday as I got the 2 day shipping aswell. Will post pictures when they get here. Great prices and good reviews. Plus you can buy plants grown on driftwood or lava rocks.

I have mixed feelings. I have ordered things that arrived in great condition, and I have received wrong items and it was 5 months before customer service noticed my email. They resolved it by giving me $20 store credit... I also tried calling them to setup a wholesale account for our store. The guy on the phone was mumbling, put the receiver down and just walked away for like 8 minutes. I finally had enough and hung up, they didn't try calling me back. Haven't dealt with them since.

All in all, good quality purchases but awful customer service.

Also don't buy mosses or subwassertang from them... every single time I've purchased them, they arrive brown or with hair algae.
