Aquarium Tank Brands: Non-Conventional Dimensions

Hello,

I'm new to the hobby and the forum (has been a great resource for a beginner like me)
I currently have a 20 gallon high and was hoping to upgrade to a larger sized tank, but my space is limited.
The max dimensions I can work with is 35.5L and 20W (height isn't an issue).
I really wanted a 40 gallon breeder, but it won't fit (by less than an inch in length). I may have to settle for a 29 gallon in the end and accept that it is the largest tank that will fit in my space.

I'm trying to see if any companies/brands sell more non-standard size aquarium tanks that may fit in this space. I saw Marineland has a 30 gallon breeder (30L x 18W x 12H), but I couldn't find it anywhere. If anyone knows any brands that may have tanks that could fit this space (larger, the better), please let me know.

Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

This one would fit if you don't mind the bow front and the price.

SeaClear 36 Gallon Bowfront Aquarium & Hood

Have you asked any LFS or chains if they can order the Marineland breeder? I know Petsmart has some Marineland tanks.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I would prefer to avoid getting a bow front (just my preference)

Also, I have not. I did not know they could possibly order it for me. I'll have to ask the next time I visit.

Thank you!

Oh, I do see that top fin has that 37 gallon. I bought the same starter kit for my 20 gallon.
Unfortunately, I don't need all the other things so was just looking for the tank. I'll keep this one in mind though! Yes, that aqueon 29 gallon is an option for me.

In the end, I was trying to see if I could maximize my footprint dimensions since I have a few inches long and wide (I saw that length and width are more important than height?). I'll keep looking and let everyone know if I do find something out of the ordinary. Thanks all!

I live in a small house, finding room for tanks is a real challenge. That is probly a good thing.

That’s what saws are for! We make the tanks fit by cutting walls etc…! Lol

I bought the 37 kit and have slowly added and replaced things over time. It was a cheap way to get started as it was on sale at Petsmart.

Have you thought of making a tank or getting one made? Glass shops will cut pieces to size and finish the edges. Or if you don’t feel confident to make it yourself, here most aquarium shops here will make them to your specifications, I don’t know if that is the same where you live though.

Donthemon I really wish I could smash down some walls to make more space!

awilkinson871 Yea, that's what I've started to do in anticipation of an upgrade. If the price is right, I may consider it, but going to hold off for now.

TClare This is a great idea to look into. I did find custom tanks online, but the shipping was another chunk of change to think about. Maybe if I can find something local, I can definitely consider it since I don't think I'm handy enough to build on my own. Thanks!
