Aquarium Salt for Betta Fin Rot

My betta has some very slight fin rot and tears in his fins. I’m assuming he got the fin rot from fish-in cycling problems (ammonia was way to high) and he was pretty stressed out because of this. The water perimeters are all normal now and I do 25%-30% water changes every week.
Anyway I was going to use aquarium salt to help the fin rot, but I’m not quite sure how to use it. I currently can’t make a quarantine tank, but I think my current tank should work with the aquarium salt (unless you wouldn’t suggest I shouldn’t add the salt to my main tank...)
-How long would I have to use the aquarium salt for? A week?
-Some websites I looked at said to do 50% water changes but others said 100% water changes. I’m guessing since I’m going to be adding the salt to the main tank I would have to change 50% of the water every day?
-Do I have to take my filter out? Or do I have to clean it after I’m done using the aquarium salt?
-Is aquarium salt safe for moss balls?
-Anything else I should know before using aquarium salt?

Here’s a picture of before and after the problem started:

I wouldn't start using the aquarium salt quite yet. I would start with keeping the water really clean and do 25% water changes 2-3 times a week. If it gets really bad you can start the aquarium salt.
I think the aquarium salt is safe for moss balls.

Okay ty! I’ll try doing water changes more often then. I also forgot to mention that his fins sometimes look inflamed and I’m worried it might be hurting him. I noticed that his fins looked like this about 2 weeks ago, but they look a little better now. You can’t really see it from the pictures I already posted, so here are some other pictures that might show what I mean better:

Are his fins like that all the time? if they aren't, he's probably just flaring.

In all those pictures I’m pretty sure he’s flaring, but I’m talking about the edges of his tail. I couldn’t get a clear picture, but what I meant is that the edges of his tail are slightly red. I’ll also make sure to do a WC today.

What size is the tank and what are the water parameters? That can happen with ammonia burns. Make sure to get that WC done .

I guess it could be... I use the API Ammonia Test Kit and last time I tested the water it was at 0.25ppm (but apparently API sometimes reads like that). I'm probably going to do a WC today and thursday. I'll also test the water right now so I'll let you know what the perimeters are soon.

The ammonia is somewhere in between 0ppm and 0.25ppm.
GH - 120ppm
KH - 40ppm
pH - 7.5
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 20
I use API test strips so I don't know how accurate this is. I'm surprised that the pH is higher than usual though. Also the KH should be 80ppm right? Could this be affecting him in any way?
Also his current tank is 2.5 gallons (but I have a 10 gallon I'm currently getting ready for him) and I use Seachem Prime to condition his water.

The ammonia could be from the tank size. He will definitely appreciate that ten gallon.
Test strips are often pretty inaccurate do I would suggest getting the API Master Test Kit instead. It's a lot more accurate and lasts a long time.
