Aquarium salt dosage help

I just bought aquarium salt to treat ich and secondary infections in my quarantine tanks (never had ich before so never had ich meds) and the package says a different dose than the internet. It's the Jungle brand (if that makes a difference) and the bag says 1 tablespoon per 5 gal, but the internet says 1 tablespoon per 1-3 gal. I've never used aquarium salt before and I'm confused. I know some fish are more sensitive to salt than others, the only fish in the quarantine tanks are goldfish.

My container of aquarium salt recommends 1 tablespoon for 5 gallons of water. I would be more inclined to follow the instructions on the container your salt comes in than the amount posted on the internet.

1-3 TBSP per gallon is if you’re attempting a salt bath not to leave your fish in for a prolonged period of time.

Did you try the heat method before dosing meds for the ich?

I'm too scared to do the heat treatment with goldfish... the tank is at 76 F.

For ich I used the regular recommended dose which was 1 tablespoon per 5g, also raised temp to 84 this killed the ich for me. I don't keep goldfish so i am unsure if they are sensitive to salt.

I already have the salt in with the fish at 1 tbsp/5 gal, I was scared to use the heat treatment because their cool water fish. They don't seem to care that the salt's in there at all!

Most aquarium salt brands recommend 1 tbsp per 5 gallon on the packet, but I think that's just general use and not specifically for use as Ich treatment which requires higher concentrations of 1-3 tbsp per gallon. It's very effective on Ich at those concentrations but I only recommend it for brackish water fish or livebearers in non planted tanks. I don't know what the salt tolerance of goldfish is.
