Aquarium safe paint??

I bought a decoration from Petco that's a lovely little oriental bridge. Well, I just noticed that the paint is bubbling on it, so I pulled it out of the tank. It's bright red like my betta and he loves to weave in and out through the railings. Is there a safe paint I could use to refinish it? It's metal of some sort and I'd love to sand it down and refinish it rather than return it to the store.

Hello,

I'm not sure I would be adding anything metal into your aquarium unless it is stainless steel.

I would be nervous to mess with a decoration like that, but maybe that's just me. You'd probably be better off returning it.

Just my opinion, but I think if any plastic/metal object I put into my tank started to warp or otherwise change appearance when it shouldn't be, I would take that as a sign that it probably shouldn't be in my tank and return it to the store.

is this the bridge? If so, it has many reviews saying the paint bubbles and chips. I would recommend staying away from this decoration.

Thank you so much for going to the trouble of finding that link!! That is the bridge. It is as adorable as it looks but is apparently a piece of junk. Tabasco liked it, but doesn't like the little cave thing I got to put in its place. I have to admit the fake rocks don't look as good. I guess I'll have to try to find something else to put in with my little red betta.
