In looking into information about plastics leaching into water, I discovered that polycarbonate can leach into water chemicals that neutralize hormones. This makes me wonder about breeding/raising fish in such tanks. I'm not talking about "We need to stop using polycarbonate in tanks," but rather, is there any negative effect in breeding/growth? I would love to test this. Unfortunately, I have very little luck in breeding fish. It would be great if one or more scientific-minded folks with colonies of guppies (or other live-bearers) could set up two tanks that were identical, save for the material of the aquarium walls, and see if there is any difference in the way the fish breed/grow.
