Aquarium filter size

Hello all I am a new fresh water aquarium owner was wonder what your thoughts are on using a larger than recommended aquarium filter (in my case I have a 10 gallon tank) I was looking into a larger external set up to better circulate the ammonia out of the tank and keep the tank cleaner many feed back would be greatly appreciated.

 

Shouldn't be much an issue unless the flow is too steong for the fish. Otherwise it sounds like a great idea!

I always use a bigger than the recommended filter size for my tanks...even double up on them often. The flow advice is good.

Yes I have a pair of ying yang guppies two Corey catfish and a beta and an unknown type of fry
