# Aquarium Calculator says i have 29 gallons but

fenway80
the label on the tank when I first bought it says 28. I know its only 1 gallon but how do I know for sure. Just curious!

Use the measurements taken from the inside of each glass piece ( the space the water will fill).
That will give you the correct calculation as to gallonage.

FishGuy
L x W x D (in feet), then result x 7.47 = gallons

If it is a rectangular tank you can measure the inside of the tank not the outside. Take the length times the width times the depth and then multiply by 7.47 and it should give you the correct amount of gallons inside the tank or you can look it up on the calculator at the bottom of the page to input the measurements into it will do the math for you.

The calculator at the bottom uses inches to convert to gallons for you and it is the easiest way to do the math.

or the way without math(LOL) get a clean 1 gallon jug and count how many gallons it will hold!!!

Wouldn't want to do that with a 120G tank
