Aquarium as a Chicken coop Can it be an aquarium again?

Question is the title... we had a nice empty tank at the summer camp where I'm working, and since I'm the person in charge of the small animals, I have been given the choice of what to put it there. Since I'm here, one should be able to guess what I want to put in there:)

However, just recently, before I could move anything in, I was asked if I could house a group of chicks. They were in there long enough to make a mess... And now they're gone. However, they left their mess behind them. Its gross, but is there any possible way I can clean the tank out well enough so that fish could safely live in there? I know stuff like bleach and soap is really bad for fish, but is there like a disinfectant that is safe for fish?

Ordinary tap water is our friend this time. One of the few times we can use unconditioned water in an aquarium. Rinse it out it will be fine.
The chlorinator in tap water will kill bacteria.
I am also a fan of sunlight as a sanitiser.

Yay!
It's a pretty big tank (at least for me, my largest tank is a 15) so I'm really excited to stock this:) A large school of nano fish would be sweet.

Personally, I'd just give it a few good rinses with tap water and consider some normal-strength vinegar if you have anything stuck on that water doesn't seem to get off.

Just saying, I watch birds poop in ponds all the time. Herons drop some doozies…….

;)

Better to double check though ;)
