Does anyone else have problems with scale building around impellor?
What causes this and how to stop it?
Have 4 filters only happening on 1

Calcium, salt and/or minerals can build up on the impeller of any filter. It can be removed by soaking the impeller in a solution of one part vinegar to (8) eight parts water overnight and rinsing off the calcium deposits. I don't think it is the brand of filter, and I don't know why it would build up on only one. Has that one been in the water longer possibly? Anyway use the above method to remove the minterals and you should be good to go.:;wv

I do clean it with vinegar.
Its just annoying that out of 4 aquaclears this one does this.

Which filter? Which tank? Does this tank also have buildup on the glass or on a tank cover? Could it be there is more buildup on this one tank affecting your filter? Could the impeller be worn out?

Sorry for all the questions, but it is difficult to hazard a guess. Obviously something is different with one tank. Just don't know what.

Aquaclear mini on 10 gallon tank.
All tanks have some buildup on covers.
All filters normally get some buildup where water exits.
    Was thinking maybe sucking air?
Only places i see buildup is where water meets air.
Otherwise everything is the same on all tanks.
Not a big deal just wondering if anyone else had this?
