Aquaclear 110 Hob Specs / Measurements / Pics / Example Media

I cleaned my Aquaclear 110 today and decided to take some pics and post them for reference.

Some of the pics also include an ATI Filter Max III sponge pre-filter kit. Obviously this is not included with the AC110, but I added pics of it because it's a good option to have.

Many of the pics have a tape measure across parts of the filter. I did this in case people are researching this particular filter, they can have a better reference of its size.

Great. That has the same volume as the Seachem Tidal 110, about 300 cu. inches each.

With the corrected values I got from Seachem themselves (width was wrong), the AC70 has 134 cu. inches and the Tidal 75 (9 3/8 x 3 x 7) has 197 cu. inches. A 47% increase over the AC70.

**************
However here is how much media you can fit in a Tidal 55 (110 cu. inches).

Wow, thank you Islandvic and Chichlidude! Question - especially Chichlidude - am I reading that right that the Tidal 110 and AC 110 has the same media space, but Tidal 55 has a good bit more than the AC70? Thanks!

Also, I have a 110, and it is working great, but one thing that didn't seem to work for me was that removable media tray. I tried and tried but could not get it to slide in or out cleanly. No matter how hard, or which way I pushed. So I just chunked it. No big deal - I have my media in bags anyways so I can remove to clean in 2 seconds, even without the tray.

I saw some video reviewing the new Tidal XX or , and one comment was how easy the lid fits on - I LOL'd because sometimes it takes me several seconds (minutes lol) to get my AC110 top to sit cleanly on it! But awesome filter no doubt. Want to try a Tidal now as well!

Also if you didn't realize the Tidal series draw water from 3 locations. Bottom, middle and top (skimmer). The lower blue wheel turns on and off the lower intake. Leaving you to better filter the middle and top water of your tank if you want.

I’ve been trying to find out if the 110 will fit on the end of a 55 gallon tank. The tank is 12.75” wide, so with top bracket, a little less. In some of the pictures (like top view) its looks over 13”. But then in the picture of the back of the resivour it looks like only a little over 12”.

Can anyone confirm if the AC 110 could fit on the end of an Aqueon 55?
