Aquaclear 110 foam pad used in Fluval 306?

Just purchased the Fluval 306 canister filter online at Petsmart, about to go pick it up at the store now. I'm going to be transferring my ceramic rings and pond matrix over to the 306 to preserve what little BB I've built up so far with my cycling, is there a way to also transfer over the foam block from the 110? Can I just cut it to fit, and wedge it in somewhere inside the canister?

Yah, you can 3 piece it if you have to, just cut it larger and squish it in.

Ended up getting the 406, my initial rating is a .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 Star out of 500 quadrillion stars.

The tubing is so stiff that nothing I do will make the intake tube stay attached to the suction cup inside the tank. Do I have to wait weeks for this to loosen up a bit? Seriously, what a pain.

Just run hot water through the tube and shape it after its more malleable

The directions say that the connection point between the hose and outtake nozzle needs to be underwater, but if I do this then the outtake nozzle will also be under water. How do I get any surface agitation then? There's no way to point the nozzle up because of the (in my mind) flawed design that forces everything down.

Everything is up and running, does anyone have an idea as to how I can direct the outtake up towards the surface? There's some light surface agitation but I'm concerned it's not enough.

The connections do not need to be underwater. The gray rubber seals work just fine above the surface. I'm running my 29 gallon saltwater with about 75% water level because I'm still adding rock. No problems with the Fluval 206 I'm running on it right now.

I run my 406 slightly below the surface, as it got pretty annoying when it was above the surface of the water. I find that the intake isn't the best on this filter, seems like it doesn't suck up much debris.(Possibly due to that check ball)

You could take the check ball out by pulling the clear grate off. It will literally affect nothing as the filter itself has an internal one-way flap valve.
