Aquabid issues with buyer/seller?

Wow, what a mess! How long has he been denying that the money order was delivered? Can you request delivery address confirmation from USPS?

They have been asking him if he got paid since April 29th. Delivery confirmation was April 27th.

Aquabid informed me that the zip code I delivered to did not match the one the seller has on file with them, however it was the zip code I was instructed to deliver to via e-mail conversation.

I've never had to see about delivery confirmation through USPS so I have no idea, outside of looking at the tracking number how to go about that. If it was delivered to the wrong address USPS is still going to note it as delivered, and the seller is still going to be without the money.

However giving me the wrong mailing address is the seller's fault, not mine. I sent it as it was entered in the e-mail that I received. Matched number for number.

What I don't understand is why you would even send a money order to a perfect stranger? You have no way of knowing if the person is honest and regardless of whether or not he received or cashed it, there is no way to get it back. If the seller doesn't use Paypal, I don't buy...period.

For future reference, if a seller doesn't accept Paypal and has something that you absolutely must have, tell the seller to send it COD. That way, you pay for the item WHEN you get it and don't have to worry about the seller being a major pain in the neck.

There actually are ways to dispute a money order and file for a refund through www.moneygram.com

I put it off in hopes the seller would get the money order and all of this could be resolved. The last thing I need is for the seller to finally get the money order, find out he's unable to cash it and really think I was messing with him the whole time.

But doesn't moneygram charge you to stop payment or get a refund on a money order? I know my dad tried to 'cash' a money order that he purchased, filled out, then didn't need, and it would have cost him more to get the refund for the money order than the money order was worth.

There's a $15 dollar fee. Which means I would only get $10 back, but I would also have the peace of mind that someone else didn't just get $25 free from me. The question is just if it's worth waiting the 30 days for everything to be processed.

Which is exactly why I e-mailed aquabid again. this seller has put up the same plants to sell three times, and all three buyers failed to pay and stopped communicating with him? One failed to contact him or pay for them yet left him a positive review despite never getting her plants?

Somehow I find that a little hard to believe.

Edit: I feel it's also worth mentioning that the auction started as 9 plants, and despite the fact that no one paid for the auction only 4 were available by the third attempt to sell them - the one I bid on.

Most of that seller's feedback (only 4? Who cares if it's 100%?) seems to be from buying, not selling. Aquabid is just like any other auction site, you need to look at the feedback and not just the score. I've used Aquabid a few times and had great results, but I bought from sellers who had high numbers of feedback and not just high feedback percentages. My feedback % is probably 100% as well but I've only purchased on there and never sold.
