I bought an Aqua One heater on eBay but instead I received an aquamanta heater instead (the model is a ch 300). I asked the seller why this was and he told me :
"HI there If you have a look at the title it says Aquamanta (which is Aqua Ones Premium Line) Aqua one have sold out of the standard 300W heaters and are currently substituting them with the premium line the Aquamanta unit still has aqua one 3 year warranty. It also features quartz instead of glass (stronger) and has an auto shut off feature If you don't want their free upgrade you can simply return it and we can refund it (we can't send a replacement as they don't have them atm)"
I then asked him how he knew this and he told me this :
"The only sure way that you would know for sure is if you called up Aqua One and asked them Aqua One launched Aquamanta a few years as a premium line for independent stores (no chain stores like pet barns ect) Personally its better than thermosafe but yes basically functions the same"
Is it true that aquamanta is Aqua One's premium line? I really don't think he's telling me the truth but I'm not an expert on this. If not should I get an Aqua One 200w thermosafe instead for my 170L? . I looked them both up and they seem to have all the same stats except for the wattage and size. I also prefer the way the thermosafe looks and the way you adjust the temperature for more grip.
Thanks Sam.
