I have the fluval 70 above and it's rated for 300 gallons per hour. I know some people say to shoot for 10 gph for each gal in your tank.

I have a 38gal bowfront I'm about to start up and I'm wondering if you guys think this will be enough. I'm sure it will but I like knowing it's better than just barely.

    My stocking thoughts are
    1 abn
    10 kuhli loaches
    2 Bolivian rams
    10 cardinal tetra
    1-3 honey gourami maybe

    Thanks for the thoughts!

If you keep up with your water changes and keep the substrate vacuumed then it's probably enough. Also be sure to choose media with as much surface area as you can get so there's lots of room for your BB to grow!

I would really recommend adding a second filter, even a sponge filter, just for peace of mind:)

Yeah I'm good about water changes, and I like your idea of adding a sponge filter. I've heard of a few good benefits those so that should be perfect! Thanks!
