Apple Snail Anatomy?

Does anyone know if this white thing on my apple snail is normal? my first guess was something to do with breeding. I do have two but don't know genders. (haven't bothered trying to sex them.)




first time owning apple snails and couldn't find anything online.

 

I have no idea, but, it looks like something on the snail, rather than a part of the snail...

Hopefully there'll be someone along soon with some better info.

 

nothing to worry about it a part of thne by which they sense food (probably). I have 5 of them and they strech it upwards to sense food or u knw do something with it lol. it could be his **** though but that only comes out while mating. a male will have a **** like thick thread on the upper left side of his shell behind the snail body and the female will have nothing. how many do you have ?

I was assuming it was his **** haha. just because it's on that side, and looks like it's coming from the back of his body. I just have two. Just checked my gold one and definitely a female haha.
If that's what it is why would it just be out like that? he is super active right now so maybe he's trying to find her?

it's definitely not that breathing tube thing they stretch up. that's dark and on the other side.

it is a very normal thing for them to do I will show you some pics when theybstick thiers out. female as well as male both have these so need to worry. I have not yet sucessed at mating lol but I have 2 males one young and one adult rest 3 are females adult. if they mate do tel me

then you will have a lot more work to do

 

I think what your referring to is in fact the breathing tube.
