Hi

I am looking for a pair or a couple pairs of colorful apistos. I cannot find any nice ones at my lfs. I figured doesn’t hurt to try on here. I live in montreal.

Thanks

Have you tried Shrimpfever.com? They ship in Canada and usually carry those. :)

Shrimpfever mainly does online sales, and although I've not personally ordered from them (I buy in the store since it's nearby) they are a reputable source.
You can also try Angelfins.ca - they also stock the fish you are looking for, and are a reputable online business with quality stock. I have personally had fish delivered from them, and they came properly packaged with heat packs and were shipped quickly. I was a bit unsure about ordering online at first too, but I was pleasantly surprised at the effort they put in to keeping the fish safe during shipping.
For these 2 stores (and many others) the bulk of their business is online, so they have to provide quality product and secure packages properly prepared for shipping, or they would be out of business pretty quick. ;)
Also be sure to check out the guarantees/refund policies when buying online, in case anything arrives DOA. Not sure on Shrimpfever's policy, but Angelfins has a good one. One of my 8 ChilI Rasboras that were delivered didn't survive the shipping, and arrived DOA. I let the company know right away, sent a pic, and they issued a refund within a couple of hours.
I always prefer to buy fish in person, so I can see them before buying, and choose the specific fish I want. However, when this isn't possible - like in your situation, where local availability is an issue - having fish shipped from a reputable source is a reasonable second option. :) Good luck!
