Wild Strain, Blue CF F1

These are my blue cacatuoides pair, they are 1st generation children of wild caught fish. They are still very young and I've only had them three weeks, but you can see that she is showing spawning coloration.

Been around for a year, still learning... didn’t realize comments/discussion go elsewhere. Wait, is this discussion?
Here's my guy (and gal). The fish are slightly blurry, my iphone insisted on focusing on the background.

My triple red male Apistogramma cacatuoides - not full grown or fully colored but close - protecting a female from the dreaded camera:

And the other one:

Soon (1? 2? months) my hongsloi will color up and then their photos will pop up here.

They are doing fine. They were like 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch when purchased. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow (lights off right now). It looks like i ended up with 2 males and 2 females. The dominant male oddly he hides a lot and the passive male does not. The person who sold me these doesn't know anything about their history. He purchased 2 and they bred that's the extent of his knowledge.

I did find a seller up in WI who is extremely knowledgeable (Aquaticclarity). There are some really interesting apistogramma. I've been researching which ones prefer warm waters and i might keep a few with some rams.

Not a great picture but the lights are off right now - i'll try again in a few days.

How are the hongslio ? They are one of my favorites .I breed and kept Rostrich strain hongslio ..

Here's my super red male. I'm raising 2 of his fry right now, they're going on 3 weeks old. I've got them set up in a bare bottom 10G with a couple hunks of christmas moss, and a few leaves / twigs.

Here is a picture of my other male. His fins are a lot smaller (esp the back) which is why i think the other one is dominant but this one stays out front all the time. He is also darker and has a lot more red (this is a poor picture but when i walk over to the tank he looks for 'food' - the other one has a cave in the very back and hides nearly all the time but i don't think they are breeding - the females stay out in the open but not in front). I thought about netting him to get a better picture but i hate to do that - it seems to stress them a bit - these guys are super jumpy and never really calmed down like the cichlid i have. I took about 6 shots but he refused to sit still - might try again another day:

updated photo of my other hongsloi male. This one is actually the brother of the one further up even though he has a different look. I know he looks disappointed but that is because he thought i was going to give him a treat...

This is my extremely shy little lad 24 hours after moving into his new home, managed to get a photo as he was waking up

He has some beautiful colours that don't show up very well but he will no doubt come out of his shell more when he feels more secure
