How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? The apisto has a swollen eye. Had not noticed anything wrong with the gourami, but it's a heavily planted tank with a lot of small fish in it and it might have been showing signs and I missed it.

Explain your emergency situation in detail.
(Please give a clear explanation of what is going on, include details from the beginning of the illness leading up to now)

Today I found one of 7 honey gourami dead. Upon inspection of the other fish, I see the apisto has a swollen eye. The other fish look fine.

About 4 months ago, I lost an apisto to parasites. I treated with Prazipro - 3 rounds - and the others seemed fine.

The remaining fish show no sign of illness. I should mention that the weather here was very hot about 10 days ago and the water temp was around 85 for several days. I should also mention that the rasboras came out of a two month quarantine after the temp returned to normal.

Hey, for me I think it's likely the Apisto killed the Gourami and was injured in the process? The A.cacatoiudes we had was very aggressive and often harassed our larger Trichogaster faciata(larger cousin of Trichogaster chuna) It really wouldn't surprise me if this was the case. With only one eye swollen it would suggest injury over water quality.

some large water changes will help perhaps some aquarium salt treatment may help to reduce infections. hope it does ok

I haven't seen the apisto show any aggression to speak of but you never know with fish. I suppose that would be better than a water problem.

Thanks for answering my question.
