API Superclean broken?

I've got an API Superclean 10-20 for my 20 gallon tank, and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. It is just barely trickling out the output, and the rest of the water is pouring out of the area near the intake ( not out of the tube, above it). I've tried cleaning the media, cleaning the impeller, and putting in less media. What is wrong with it?

Sounds like it's clogged somewhere. I never had this filter before can you post a picture so I can see what your looking at?

Have you cleaned or checked the tube for flow?

How old is it?

Pump motor could be failing.

I had a Marineland 100 that I ran literally for 3 days, put it away after I upgraded to a 40 gallon. Yesterday I set it up for my oldest's betta fish and it ceased in the middle of the night.

It's less than a year old, and I've cleaned every part possible, I pulled out the intake tub and cleaned it out.

I just bought my daughter a Fluval Aqua Clear for $30 for her 10 gal tank, that thing is awesome! I ended up getting an Aqua Clear for my 40 gal.

Save your media and throw in the new one

Okay, I actually have another filter that I used before I switched to the current one.

I agree. Forget top fin and go aqua clear. They have standed the test of time for many years.
