There seems to be a strong preference on Fishlore for the API Master Test Kit.

I have used both the API and Nutrafin kits and greatly prefer Nutrafin. My favourite differentiating factor is that the colour charts with Nutrafin are clear for readings of ZERO ppm ammonia/nitrite/nitrate.

I am interested to hear some arguments for why API is better.
    Is there a cost factor?
    Is API considered more accurate?

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I would say the API kit is commonly used for a couple reasons: Widely available, cost effective, accurate for the money. That being said I haven't used the nutrafin kit so cannot compare the two.
