API GH test kit defect?

So, I ordered an API GH/KH test kit from Amazon.com. The first kit I received appeared to have a defect, so they sent a new one. This second one has the same problem so now I'm starting to wonder if this is in fact a defect, or if the bottle is supposed to be like this.

On the GH bottle (the one with the green liquid), there is a slit on the top side of the hole where the liquid is dispensed. These kits are designed to dispense an exact amount with each drop. I think this slit is not supposed to be here and I have another defective bottle. if you look carefully at the picture, you can see the split going down the side starting at the top of the bottle (where the hole is). It looks like a green line. Is this supposed to be here? thanks.

 

I just checked: my GH bottle has this exact same thing, so I don't think it is a defect.

Sorry, I got home pretty late last night. My GH bottle looks just like the other ones, with a circular aperture.

 

In mine the slit is only apparent if I hold it in a particular way look at it from a particular angle in good light, but there is definitely a slit there, and it is only in the GH. So either a whole bunch of GH got the same defect, or it's not a defect, or who knows. Anyway, mine seems to work just fine with the small slit: it still dispenses one drop at a time.

I'll have to look again in better light when I get home. Also, when did you guys get your tests? Maybe they changed it recently.
