Take filter out, so carbon does not absorb medication. Which filter?

Thanks,

Christian
I don’t have any carbon in my filter yet, it’s a homemade filter with just polyfill and lava rocks in a bucket. I’m more worried about the beneficial bacteria being killed off and the filter not doing it’s job. I might remove the lava rocks when I add general cure just to be sure it’s not absorbed.

I would say no then, because adding antibiotics can frequently result in shifts in the character of the bacterial within the biofilter. Not a good idea..

Good luck,

Christian
I figured that was the case, I might switch to my second filter to preserve the more mature filter media. My only concern would then be parasites still living in the filter and being reintroduced after the round of medicine is administered. This is my first time treating any sort of fish ailment so I have no experience. Thank you.
