Anything Better Than The Api Test Kit?

It’s time to buy a water test kit for the new aquarium. The API Master Test Kit is well regarded, and I certanly have no issues with it. But first I would appreciate any other recommendations Fishlore folks may have.

API is the way to go in the fish hobby it seems. Stick with that inclusive million-in-one API kit

The API test kit is still missing GH and KH tests though.

I would also be interested in what's out there. I have extreme difficulty interpreting no3- results

Would still stick with the API Freshwater Master Test Kit. If you want to measure GH and KH, then get the API GH and KH Test Kit.

Also interested in knowing any good quality test kits out there. I also have my own digital pH test kit, but have not used it yet.

I have been using the Sera Aqua-Test Box for a few months now and I don't have any complaints. It's far more complete than the API kit though it's understandably costlier. It has tests for NH3/NH4, Cl, NO2, NO3, Phosphates, Iron, GH, KH & PH.

The Seachem kits are supposed to be really good, but they are pricey and don't come in a big all-inclusive kit. I haven't bothered with them because I no longer test my water.

The small shop I get some of my stuff from prefers the Nutrafin master test kit over the API one.
It runs close to $90 here but has all the tests in it.
