Hey everyone, I am looking to buy some root tabs for my relatively new tank and saw that Aquarium Coop sells some that are slightly more economical than the Seachem brand tabs. I was wondering if anyone here has used them and if they were effective or not.
I used them for a few of my pond plants just to see if they’d be worth the money since they were cheaper. So I have one planter with six foot zebra grass and the other is only three foot. The water lily I used the coop tabs on have bigger leaves. No flowers yet but noticeable difference. These are plants one batch had none, the other coop root tabs.
The black flag iris I did three. None-no blooms, smaller leaves; Seachem-black iris blooms, plentiful, taller; coop tabs- blooms not quite as black, still plentiful blooms, same height leaves.
Hope this helps. I think for flowering plants I’ll stick to Seachem. Non flowering I’ll use coop.
I live near the Aquarium Co-Op and love using their root tabs and all-in-oneliquid fertilizer. So far they’ve been working well for me. Getting good plant growth. I’ve been pretty happy with it. I’m sure both root tabs will work about the same, give or take.
